October was also a prosperous month. We had our first open home welcoming the women’s house to the community. Our Founder and President Monique Gordon-Ellis was celebrating her 50th birthday with friends and family from around the country. There were also family of the residents and local supporters in attendance. Many people gave donations to the house in lieu of birthday gifts. We are VERY THANKFUL FOR THEIR GENEROUS SUPPORT.
Toni’s House welcomed everyone with a cook-out Saturday afternoon October 8th. Lots of activity was going on. Cerese Designs from Atlanta Georgia www.ceresed.com donated a $375.00 necklace for a raffle item along with gifts for the women residents. They also set up a display for selling their designs. Toni’s House resident and author Vernon Davis was on hand promoting his two published books of poems visit his site: www.vernonjdavisjr.com. Women’s resident Rene McNeil was giving complimentary massages. Caitlin Dills from the women’s house gave haircuts.
We also had Nicole Nicols from Arizona demonstrating her nutritional products along with Toni Woods giving samples of her organic coffee. Curtis Lewis from the men’s house was on the grill everyone enjoyed his chicken. We have to give a special THANKS to LaTonya Logan she was the head cook in the kitchen for all the side dishes. This was a party for the entire organization, their friends and family and local supporters. Everyone had fun.
