"This year was the first Christmas I’ve celebrated in years. My experience at Toni’s House was a beautiful celebration of life mainly for Christ, but also for my new found life of sobriety! Being away from my family I thought would be hard: Boy was I wrong. The environment & people at Toni’s House have accepted me into their family & I believe that’s what Christmas is all about. Spending time with your loved ones and appreciating life! I’m thankful for my new found family and for my wonderful Christmas this year. I look forward to all our exciting events to come in 2012." - Jacklyn, Toni’s House resident
"For many years, the meaning of Christmas was lost for me. It became a matter of buying gifts for those I held dear, if in fact I was able to accomplish that. This year was different. Being able to experience the camaraderie and the love of Toni’s House made this a holiday to remember! I got to learn the meaning of giving from your heart; making cookies, having sleepovers, "Secret Sister" (instead of secret Santa) and singing Christmas carols while we trimmed the tree were things that I had not done since my childhood and these simple activities brought me great joy. In addition to that Monique’s selfless giving made me realize that they are some kind people left in the world. She takes every opportunity to show us that life can get better! The look of sheer happiness on the faces of the women upon receiving their gifts drained the spirit of being a scrooge right our of me. No matter where my journey in life lead me I pray that I am forever a part of Toni’s House." - Lashonda Bussie, TH Women’s House Manager
"This was my second Thanksgiving and the first Christmas that Ive spent with Toni’s house. A lot of its residents either dont have family in Las Vegas or have been displaced for one reason or another. So, we all came together as a family and celebrated these holidays in the spirit of fellowship and goodwill toward one another.
The holidays are a really hard time for addicts, and we are so grateful that there is a place like Toni’s House to spend the holidays. Without it, alot of us might have spent that time loaded or worse. We want to thank Monique and all of the rest of the people who donated their food, presents, and especially their time in order to make our holidays so nice. God bless all of you.” - Gary Gall, TH Maintenance Manager
